Abstrakt: The Rod-Zw10-Zwilch complex localizes to kinetochores during mitosis. New studies reveal that this complex plays a critical role in driving the expansion of the outer domain of unattached kinetochores, in addition to its known role in the control of the spindle assembly checkpoint.
