Abstrakt: Successive synchronized cycles of Plasmodium replication in the host's blood causes the symptoms of malaria and fuels disease transmission. In this issue of Cell Host & Microbe, Hirako et al. (2018) reveal that host circadian rhythms of inflammation and metabolism are responsible for the timing of cycles of parasite replication.
