A qualitative differentiation of the blood flow was found to occur at the level of aortic arch. Erythrocytes from the carotid artery differ from those of the femoral artery by their morphofunctional parameters (surface area, lipoprotein contents, sulfhydryl groups, hemoglobin). The data obtained suggest that the erythrocytes entering the brain are younger and functionally more active. They are supposed to take part in the mechanisms supporting a stable functional condition of the brain. |
