Abstrakt:	•Many parents use multiple monitoring strategies in different combinations over time to monitor their adolescents.•Adolescents of parents who use multiple strategies reported greater risk involvement.•Parents who solicited information only from adolescents had greater knowledge and adolescent disclosure.
