Concurrent clinico-electroencephalographic and endocrinologic examination of the function of the hypothalamo-hypophyseal complex in patients in the acute period of rupture of aneurysms of the cerebral vessels showed that increase of the degree of irritation of the hypothalamic structures and the severity of the patient's condition is attended by activation of the function of the adenohypophysis and glucocorticoid function of the adrenal cortex. In loss of hypothalamic functional activity in patients whose condition is severe or very severe, the adrenocorticotropic function of the adenohypophysis is inhibited while the function of the adrenal cortex is sharply activated. No significant differences in the somatotropic function of the adenohypophysis in changes of the degree of hypothalamic structures irritation were revealed. |
