Abstrakt: Abdominal actinomycosis is a rare disease caused by Gram-positive anaerobic Actinomyces bacteria. Here, we present a patient with an intrauterine contraceptive device who developed a long lasting and unexplained recurrent, painful abdominal swelling a few months after a laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
