Abstrakt: The regulation of blood cell production (hematopoiesis) by CCN proteins is an area of increasing interest to hematologists. There is some discordance in the literature in this area due to the use of mixed or ill-defined cell populations for experiments. Expression of, and response to, CCN proteins is specific to both cell type and differentiation status. Here, we describe methods to prepare defined hematopoietic cell populations and associated functional assays.
