The study of the indices of external respiration and acid-base state of the blood in 53 patients with large and giant postoperative abdominal hernias has shown the high effectiveness of the complex preoperative preparation, including the measures directed at the improvement of cardiopulmonary activity, its adaptation to the increased intraabdominal pressure, maximum possible intestinal emptying. The investigations mentioned, when performed in dynamics, permit to define with more reliability the possibility and degree of the risk of operative treatment in such patients. |
