Abstrakt: Alcohol can be used as a diagnostic aid for patients with dyschromia commonly seen in terra firma-forme dermatosis, confluent and reticulate papillomatosis, and acanthosis nigricans. Although biopsy can definitively determine diagnosis, proper utilization of isopropyl alcohol may avert unnecessary procedures.
