Abstrakt: It has been established that daily inclusion of modified Alaska pollack protein into the rat ration as a 10% substitute of casein does not induce any changes in the body. A long term (during 12 months) feeding of rats with the rations containing 50 and 100% of Alaska pollack protein, as casein substitute, results in significant changes in the histological structure of the kidneys and liver. The data of electron microscopy enabled the authors to make a conclusion on the presence of a toxic factor in the protein product studied.
