Abstrakt: Bony fusion between the skull and the vertebral column is a sufficiently rare skeletal anomaly that we may never have the opportunity to see it during our career. An 'evidential' discovery led to an example being made available for detailed study. This illustrated paper presents the findings of the study, reviews other studies, and discusses the genetic origins of such an outcome.
