Abstrakt: UBLs (ubiquitin-like proteins) are a major class of eukaryotic post-translational modifiers. UBLs are attached to numerous cellular proteins and to other macromolecules, thereby regulating a wide array of cellular processes. In this chapter we highlight a subset of UBLs and describe their regulatory roles in the cell.
