Abstrakt: Cases in which a single tooth is in need of crown lengthening while remaining esthetically pleasing represent a unique challenge. A case is presented here in which crown lengthening in a challenging esthetic situation on a canine was achieved through forced eruption with a removable orthodontic appliance. The case was considered a success by both the clinician and the patient. Fabrication of the acrylic stent is a simple procedure that can be completed chairside, and the patient's acceptance of the appliance as well as the overall cost and time invested made this a very convenient alternative. The report emphasizes the general dentist's complete control over each treatment sequence.
