Abstrakt: In cats, the calcium antagonist Verapamil depressed vein constrictor responses to noradrenaline and angiotensine II both under conditions of wholesome endothelium and physical-chemical and chemical de-endothelisation. Following the de-endothelisation the vein responses recovered. The data obtained suggest that this recovery seems to be due to opening of new calcium channels that are independent of the Verapamil effect.
