Abstrakt: This is the first part of a three-part series describing how an enhanced recovery clinical pathway uses a multidisciplinary team to reduce postoperative stress and complications, improve recovery, and decrease hospital length of stay without affecting patient safety for patients undergoing colorectal surgery. This part discusses patient education and discharge planning. Next month, pain and postoperative nausea and vomiting will be discussed.
