Abstrakt: After WWI, an important centre of rehabilitation was created for the severely disabled in Tourvielle. It created the opportunity to invent and manufacture many prostheses to compensate the war amputations. In particular, the artificial arm/hand prosthesis enabled amputees to live more productive lives. Raphael Freida, who was an exceptional artist, illustrated the centre of rehabilitation when it was inaugurated by the town of Lyons.
