Abstrakt: Left ventricular outflow tract obstruction caused by a malpositioned prosthetic mechanical mitral valve has not been reported to date. In two cases of mitral valve replacement, the sewing ring was sutured to the mitral valve leaflet instead of the annulus, resulting in the ventricularization of a portion of the valve and partial obstruction of the outflow tract. Re-replacing the valve with the same type of mechanical valve, but within the annular plane, eliminated the obstruction.
