Abstrakt: Reaction of [Pt(6)(CO)(4)(P(t)Bu(2))(4)Cl(2)] with excess HS(CH(2))(4)SH in Et(2)NH gave highly stable [Pt(6)(CO)(4)(P(t)Bu(2))(4){S(CH(2))(4)SH}(2)], which adsorbs unchanged onto gold surfaces. This permitted the fabrication and electrical characterisation of gold|molecule|gold junctions involving a well-defined metal carbonyl cluster compound.
