Abstrakt: Selective transcatheter embolization with Gelfoam pledgets was used to control intractable pelvic hemorrhage in two patients with gynecologic malignancy. There were no complications or sequelae associated with the procedure, and no further bleeding occurred. This method requires only Seldinger catheterization techniques under local anesthesia and should be considered in patients whose medical condition precludes major surgery or in whom operative ligation cannot be performed.
