Abstrakt: Anterior mediastinal paraganglioma is a rare neoplasm and its pathogenesis has not yet been fully understood. The treatment of choice is complete surgical resection, however, its hypervascular nature and proximity to the great vessels makes resection challenging. Operations for paraganglioma have been referred to as a surgical challenge. Moreover, definitive preoperative diagnoses of mediastinal paraganglioma are rarely made, which has made it difficult for thoracic surgeons to prepare for such a challenge preoperatively. We report a case of anterior mediastinal paraganglioma, which was resected successfully under cardiopulmonary bypass, followed by arterioplasty of the pulmonary main trunk.
