Abstrakt: We followed patients who underwent hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy with low-dose CDDP+5-FU for liver metastases from colorectal cancer in the outpatient setting. A catheter was inserted from the femoral artery into the proper hepatic artery using the interventional technique. Two complete response (CR) and seven partial response (PR) were achieved, but later 2 of these patients had lung metastases. We conclude that this therapy may be effective, but control of extrahepatic lesions is necessary for life prolongation.
