Abstrakt: The data of surdological regional services served the basis for a comparative epidemiological analysis of hearing disorders in children. The analysis of the data showed that systemic mass check-ups of children is effective for prevention of hypoacusis. It is recommended to follow-up children with insignificant and unilateral hearing loss. There is a trend to growing occurrence of conductive and mixed hypoacusis in children. Its causes are analysed. Etiological factors of hearing problems in children were investigated. The authors believe that by the causes of hearing loss in children one can judge about regional health service quality.
