Home health care clients on the Navajo reservation present complex nursing problems that require interventions that are culturally sensitive. A collaborative project was developed that used the skills of researchers, clinicians, and members of the Navajo culture to develop culturally appropriate nursing care. Traditional life themes, values, and beliefs of the Navajo related to health and illness are described with examples of how the project facilitated home health care for Navajo clients. |
