Abstrakt: Supplemental vitamin C in mineral salt mixtures is extracted without destruction by diluted ethanol under the reducing and stabilizing protection of 2,3-dimercaptopropanol-(1) (BAL). After removal of heavy metal ions in form of mercaptides and by means of cation exchange BAL is extracted and vitamin C (ascorbic plus dehydroascorbic acid) titrated with dichlorophenolindophenol. Recovery 98-100%.
