We describe a 23 year-old woman with status asthmaticus who was treated with long-term isoflurane inhalation. In this case, we experienced severe drug-induced side effects. We conclude that isoflurane has low metabolic rate and may be the best alternative in the treatment of status asthmaticus. In long-term treatment, we have to take care of drug overdosing to avoid side effects. |
