Abstrakt: Salaried employment among primary care physicians (PCPs) is becoming the rule rather than the exception. Because of this trend, the consequences of employment, types of practice revenues and overall career satisfaction will have the greatest impact on this group, their employers, and the populations they serve. This article examines the relationship between managed care contracts, managed care revenues and salaried PCP overall career satisfaction. Proportion of practice revenues from managed care and types of managed care contracts were associated with PCP overall career satisfaction. The implications of these findings and their importance to PCP turnover are discussed.
