Abstrakt: Gas chromatography and a flame photometric detection system measured directly from mouth air the sulfur volatiles associated with malodor. Statistically significant reductions in the hydrogen sulfide and methyl mercaptan levels were observed with use of the test rinse vs a placebo rinse. The method appears potentially useful in objective clinical evaluation of mouth odor.
