Abstrakt: In summary, when developing or renovating a hospital facility, one should: Review federal, state and local waste handling requirements. Plan for efficient and adequate storage. Remember routing--keep it simple--consider secondary storage requirements. Choose vendor(s) wisely--minimize liability--know the "final storage" site of the waste. Stick to the basics of recycling and know the real costs of additional recycling--educate employees as to the realities of recycling--enhance recycling by purchasing items with post-consumer components.
