Summary: Foreign direct investment transcends domestic boundaries, raising topical issues in most jurisdictions. Though traditionally focused on protecting the interest of the investor, there has been a paradigm shift that has sought to blend in the interest of the state receiving the investment. Over the years, Zambia has been a recipient of foreign direct investment; however, it has not been able to harness the supposed benefits and this is partly due to the deficiencies in the legislative, regulatory and institutional framework. |
