Summary: Due to its voltage and current characteristics, fuel cells are inherently necessary to have a power electronics converter for the power conversions DC/DC and DC/AC. Auto companies are now promoting fuel cell vehicles, which are made possible by fuel cells and power electronics converters. Many power systems companies, such as Bloom Energy, have begun selling fuel cell power systems for factories and buildings. In this new edition, crucial designs of DC/DC converter and DC/AC inverter design and control have been added, which will be beneficiary for fuel cell developers. MATLAB/Simulink and PowerSim tools act as aids designing fuel cell power electronics converters and allow the reader to learn through simulation. |
