Summary: This updated and revised second edition provides a historical overview of radiation accidents nationally as well as abroad. It includes assessment, treatment, and management of individuals exposed to radiation; long-term follow-up of patients; procedures for emergency management; FEMA office information; and equipment and service lists. This timely coverage is written in collaboration with delegates of the Russian delegate to the United Nations Committee on the effects of Atomic Radiation and other international agencies. It also includes literature on radiation accidents never before published, including accidents in Costa Rica, weapon testing in Mayak, Chelyabinsk, Techa River, and other sites. |
