Abstract: In this article, a new "Cappadocian" tablet from the Louvre Museum is published. It is a letter addressed to the well known "merchant" Pūšu-kīn by two women, Tarīš-mātum and Ištar-lamassi. They ask him to send to Aššur all the money he can obtain to save their master. The main problem is to Identify this man. According to many letters from the first woman and the allusions of other documents, this man might be Imdilum. The main texts which might confirm this suggestion are quoted and, at the same time, they show the activities of the businesswomen who stayed in Assyria and helped their relatives travelling in Asia minor for their business. |
