Abstrakt:	Abstract: This study looks at the ŽIvnosténská banka (Trade Bank) and its involvement in the metallurgical and mining enterprises in Ostava before the First World War. Particular focus has been given to the way the banking instritution attemped to break into the field, which until that time was closely linked to Viennese banks. It analyzes the mechanism of lending mainly to the construction companies and ironworks closely linked to the largest companies of greater Ostrava.
