Abstract: We should not consider the history of production of explosives in Bratislava solely as a Slovak topic. There are reasons to consider, that it should be in fact both a Czech and Slovak topic, which rather significantly exceed the borders of the territory of both present republics. From the perspective of total social impact, there is no other more significant topic in the common history of the chemical industry in the Czech and Slovak republics, than the production of explosives. Paradoxically, despite the fact, that production in the Czech Republic, unlike in Slovakia, still continues, in terms of its impact on people's lives, this abovementioned impact has played and still plays a much more significant role in Slovakia. This article briefly deals with the professional aspect of the production of explosives and their use. It covers mainly the field of chemistry, physics and chemical technology. At the same time, however, this article describes the huge positive and negative impacts of production in Slovakia, and complements the article written by Prokop Jandek "Dynamite Alfred Nobel in Zámky near Prague - 150 years". |
