Abstract: The essay concentrates on alittle-known Latin 18th-century manuscript, which explains the history of one of the monastic houses eliminated at the time of reforms of Emperor Joseph II, the Monastery of Discalced Carmelites in Pacov. Although the monastery existed for only slightly longer than one hundred years (approximately from 1669 until 1786 or 1787), it represented an important institution on the local level, which strongly affected the history of Pacov and its broader surrounds. The information provided by the source is not complete. Nevertheless, it offers several points for contemplation: the time and reasons for establishment of the source, its character, purpose for its existence, the authorship or a closer personal specification to a particular addressee. |
