Abstract: The article presents the results of text critical research into the list of chapter titles (in Greek: kephalaia) of the Gospel of Matthew in early printed Cyrillic liturgical Tetraevangelions, and its relationship to the Cyrillic and Glagolitic manuscript tradition. The research was based on ninety early printed Cyrillic Tetraevangelions and two publications. All the textual readings confirmed in the Church Slavonic tradition of the list of chapter titles for the Gospel of Matthew were also compared with textual readings from the Greek manuscripts. This text critical research proved that in early printed Cyrillic Tetraevangelions, there are also many significant textual readings that were not confirmed in Church Slavonic or in Greek traditions. |
