Abstrakt:	Abstract: The paper deals with historical and geographic aspects of the development of the royal dowry town of Jaroměř and its domain which Jaroměř citizens started building in the early 16th century. The look of the local historic landscape, especially for the pre-White Mountain period, has been reconstructed and the way how natural conditions influenced the town prosperity was studied.
