Abstract: It is an introductory study of the project dealing with the mechanisms of the formation of a political public in the rural and provincial milieu. The phenomenon of social (political) activation and, as its part, the perception of national ideology, is explored in a complex manner. The nation was not a value in itself, but it gained attractiveness only in connection with the specific promises of the present and future. The study consists of three main parts. The first one mentions (also by means of cited ego-documents) a number of significant social and economic processes that took place in the rural milieu. The second one summarises the methodological impulses on the topic from foreign (i.e not Czech) academic literature. The final part outlines how the topic could be elaborated in the Czech historiography. |
