Abstract: The correspondence of the Jindřichův hradec provost v . B. Juhn emerged in 1837-1843. It contains almost two hundred variously long letters, preserved mostly in drafts, less frequently in original copies, which he exchanged with various private and public subjects. They are usually german, partly latin and italian in several cases. They are deposited in three different places. They concern the illness of Juhn‘s friend monsignor Josef Novák, archbishop in Zadar (1823- 1843) and the ensuing crisis, but also other related circumstances and events in Bohemia and Dalmatia. The collection contains a lot of new and important information, which shed new light not only on evaluation of Novák and his career, but also on some of his personal attitudes. The article elaborates on the potentials for opening the collection to the researchers. |
