Abstrakt: | Abstract: This article is devoted to an important new "princely" discovery of the Hunnic era in the Kursk region, which was made accidentally. It is the tomb of a military chief, buried with his arms and the harness of his horse. Described in detail, these are: two swords with cloisonné décor with garnets and gold-plated sheats, sword suspension fittings and harness pieces in gilt silver and also decorated with garnets. According to its grave goods, the discovery of Volnikovka is from the period D2 (380/400-440/450) or from the Untersiebenbrunn horizon of princely sites, some of which were discovered in Eastern Europe. it is possible that the burial was at a shallow depth and in this case, it must have been entirely destroyed. on the other hand, it cannot be excluded that the burial was conducted there in a funerary chamber with an Alan type of dromos. |
