Abstrakt: | Abstract: In 2016 there were two coins discovered in Moravia that prove contacts of Moravian Celts with the Balkans (Bzenec, tetradrachm of Macedonian leader Kassander, 319-297 BC) and with the Celtic oppidum of Velem-Szentvid in the area of contemporary Hungary (Pasohlávky, Velem type tetradrachm, minted in the 1st half of the 1st c. BC). The occurrence of the Macedonian coin is construed in a connection with Celtic expanses to the Balkans and with a return of Celtic mercenaries from service of Balkan military leaders. The Velem type tetradrachm suggests trade contact between Celtic settlement centers of the Middle Danube region of maybe a transfer of particular group of people from the Velem-Szentvid oppidum to the present area of Moravia during the time of the Boii-Daci war. |
