| Abstrakt: | Abstract: The article analyzes the relation between the errant, mechanical ἀνάγκη of the Timaeus and its orderly, luminous counterpart of the Republic, suggesting to see these as independent forces embodying the same principle of 'concatenation' on two diametrically opposed levels, Plato's aim being to put the former in the service of the latter. |
