Abstract: The World Conference of Astronomy "JENAM 98" took place in Prague in September. Many scientists from around the world accepted the invitation of the Czech Astronomical Society. The conference was one of the greatest in its 80 years history. And it has been definitely the most important event for Czech astronomers´ community since the Czech Republic was established. The conference was divided into seven different sections focusing on main topics and featuring specialized lectures and workshops. Specific discussions abot new apparatuses and significant international projects were another highlight of the conference. The annual assembly of the Czech Astronomical Society took place at the conclusion of the gathering. |
