Abstrakt:	Abstract: This study explores the Baťa concern´s business interests in Switzerland. The first part of the study analyzes the steps leading up tu the establishment of Bata-Schuh AG and the economic links between this company, the Baťa concern head office in Zlin, and other companies in the footwear industry. The paper traces how Baťa established itself on the Switz market in the 1920s and 1930s, and analyzes its relations both with competitors and with the Swiss governemnt authorities. The second part of the study focuses on the company town of Möhlin, assesssing the importance of Bata-Schuh AG for the local job market and the gradual construction of essential infrastructure for the factory and its employees.
