| Abstrakt: | Abstract: The aim of the review is to summarize the topic of interparental confllict in connection with communication that follows the conflict. Attention is paid to different types of conflicts and their association to child’s and adolescentʼs problems with adaptation. The review also focuses on the impact of interparental conflict on parental role. The typical reactions of parents towards their children about the past conflicts and the impact of different explanations are discussed. The impact of finding a solution to the conflict is also discussed. Supportive strategies for child are shown as protective. The essential point is congruence between the situation that was witnessed by child and the information that parents tell the child. It is also important to give the child clear and comprehensible explanation that the child is not the reason of the parental conflicts. The influence of family context is mentioned. Possibilities of application in the practice are described in the conclusion of the review. Transfer of the information into Czech environment and limitations of existing studies are discussed. |
