Abstract: The author in his discussion study attempts to capture the deeper historical and philosophico-political outlook behind the particular decisions of Edvard Beneš at significant moments in the history of Czechoslovakia. At the same time, he shows that E. Beneš understood his political praxis as the application and concretisation of his philosophical and scientific knowledge. Beneš’ lifelong struggle for the freedom and dignified existence of the Czechoslovak state presents an integral part of the Czech national tradition. At the same time, however, it is still relevant and inspirational in the specific historical situation of contemporary Europe. |
