Abstrakt:	Abstract: The main contribution of the present article consists in systematic considerations about the typical colour properties of basic iron (Fe) oxides compounds a-Fe2O3 (haematite), g-Fe2O3 (maghemite), a-FeOOH (goethite) and g-FeOOH (lepidocrocite). These compounds influentally occur, namely, in various natural objects and substances. Their colour characterization is carried out by means of the relevant absorption and reflection optical spectra containing the visible wavelength range and by means of the three basic colour classification systems, i.e. the CIE colour system (x, y, z) , the CIE colour system (L*, a*, b*) and the Munsell colour system (H, V, C) . The survey and evaluation of the typical colours and their variations of the considered Fe oxides are added.
