Abstract: The essay is dedicated to court festivities, which took place in Breslau (Wrocław) during Bohemian kings´ visits in the late Middle Ages. Analyses of narrative and diplomatic materials allowed insight into various rituals associated with taking over the rule and providing an opportunity for demonstration of the royal power in Breslau (e.g. the king´s ceremonial entry, tributes) and ceremonial acts connected with the excercise of the rule and political discussions. There is preserved information on religious festivities as will as the court´s merrymaking. |
