Abstract: The reasons of an insufficient research of the first lexicographer in the epoch of the Czech National Revival K. I. Thám´s scientific heritage are analysed in the presented article and an attempt to submit a survey of his scientific heritage is made: 1) with the purpose to explain an existing modern Bohemistics tradition to interpret Thám in the light of opinions of scholar´s contemporaries only (J. Dobrovský first of all), but not to consider the reasons and consequences of such perception; 2) to take into account both the real achievements of K. I. Thám and the shortcomings of his studies. |
