Abstrakt: Bulb fields dot the Dutch landscape and, come spring, the resulting blooms attract tourists from around the world. Tulips came to the Netherlands centuries ago from Turkey and Iran and flourished there. Today, country and flower are inexorably linked in the public imagination. The best time to see its famous flora is from late March to mid-May, when the Keukenhof garden in Lisse is open to the public. More than 7 million bulbs are planted there every year, and its attractions include roses, daffodils and hyacinths as well as tulips. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
